Mr. Young founded Tannin Capital on the tenets of Preserve, Strengthen & Grow and serves as the firm’s CEO & CIO. He is responsible for the firm’s overall vision and strategy including investment philosophy, investment strategy, portfolio management, compliance and client service.

Mr. Young brings over 25 years of extensive institutional capital markets perspective, proficiency and investment management experience with the goal of building structure and unique value for Tannin's clients.  Prior to founding Tannin Capital, he was Managing Director / Branch Manager of the Raymond James Fixed Income Capital Markets office in Charlotte and was responsible for all branch compliance, operations, and institutional coverage. Working with many institutional account types and transacting in all sectors over his career, Mr. Young has developed and maintains strong institutional client and trading relationships. He has also continuously managed, both direct and sub-advisory, discretionary fee-based institutional, trust and family office assets during that time.

Mr. Sheridan joined Tannin Capital's team as Managing Director and co-portfolio manager.  He also serves as a member of the investment committee and the compliance oversight committee.

Mr. Sheridan has over 25 years of financial industry experience with a broad-based investment background in asset management and trust wealth management serving high-net-worth (HNW) and institutional clients.

Prior to Tannin Capital, he served as Managing Director, National Portfolio Management at TIAA Trust Company where he led a team of portfolio managers and support staff managing over $13BB in individual and institutional client assets. Prior to assuming leadership of the portfolio management team, Mr. Sheridan created and managed the fixed income investment platform for TIAA Trust Company including the investment philosophy, strategy, portfolio characteristics and risk parameters.

Prior to TIAA, Mr. Sheridan worked with Wells Fargo as a wealth management investment strategist managing high net worth and institutional client portfolios. Mr. Sheridan's career in Capital Markets began at Bank of America (formerly Nationsbank) in Balance Sheet Management and fixed income sales before moving to the buy side with a boutique RIA managing tax-exempt and taxable fixed income strategies for HNW and institutional clients.

Mary Jo Rochelle has been in the Investment Management Services Business for 35 years. She began her career at Smith Barney in the Institutional Sales and Trading division. In 1991 Mary Jo moved to Atlanta and worked as the head of Institutional Client Services before transitioning to Raleigh NC with Paine Webber in 1993 where she began working will Bill Blanton in the Investment Management Group.
Mary Jo has worked side by side with Bill for 28 years servicing our clients and assisting with planning and management of our client relationships. Mary Jo graduated from Appalachian State University, lives in Durham NC and is married to Dennis and has two children Austin and Caroline.

Mr. Blanton originally joined Tannin Capital's team as Managing Director and served as a member of the investment committee and the compliance oversight committee.  Mr. Blanton retired from his role as an Investment Advisor Representative and continues to serve Tannin Capital in a consulting capacity.

Mr. Blanton has over 35 years of financial industry experience with a broad-based investment background in portfolio management and trust wealth management serving high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra high-net-worth clients (UHNW).

Prior to Tannin Capital, Mr. Blanton served as Managing Director at Raymond James & Associates in Raleigh, NC.

Before merging with Raymond James, he was Managing Director at Morgan Keegan & Company and was with PaineWebber Incorporated prior to that.

Mr. Blanton is an active member of his church where he has served as a Stephen minister and chairman of the endowment committee and foundation. Bill and his wife, Holly, have five children and live in Raleigh.

Prior to joining her team of 25 years, Krista graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 and moved to Washington D.C. as a volunteer at the White House in the Office of Public Liason under President Clinton. Upon her return to Raleigh, she worked as a fundraiser for the Food Bank of North Carolina.
